AWARENESS AND FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

AH has initiated an awareness and fundraising campaign through which it proposes to spread awareness about animal rights and law to students from classes five onwards. The campaign will be in partnership with different schools all across the city.

The programme will be chalked down as per the convenience of the school authorities and with help of audio visual aids awareness among school going children will be spread.

AH is also proud to recognize the overwhelming response it got from Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School, Hanwant Vihar, Rai ka Bagh, Jodhpur. AH is grateful to the school authorities for allocating time for organizing interactive sessions with students on the following themes:

Free medical camp for working animals organized.

On August 17, 2008 AH organized a medical camp for working animals. The Main aim of the camp was to make available expert medical advice and care for working animals. The Camp was organized at tonga stand at Nai Sarak, Jodhpur to ensure that the working animals like horses, donkeys etc, get medical attention on site rather than they traveling to any other location.

Dr. (Maj.) R. S. Bansal, Technical Director, AH was in charge of the camp. He also requested other veterinary doctors to be present. A team of comprising of Dr. Narendra Singh Mertiya, Dr. Om Dutt Gehlot, Dr. Mahendra Singh Rathore, Dr. Hohd. Rafiqqe and Dr. Chand Karan Sharma let by Dr. (Maj.) Bansal treated horses, goats, donkeys who visited camp.

Free Medicines were also distributed and tonga owners were advised by the doctors to take care of their animals, give proper feed and have them checked up regularly. Many Animals were suffering from skin diseases, hoof problems and other ailments. The doctors administered drugs to the animals and also prescribed medicines.

Adv. Manmeed Singh Rai, secretary, AH, While addressing the animals owners informed them about their obligation under the prevention of cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and also informed them about animals rights.

It was also made clear during the address that if any animals owner is found abusing his animals, over loading, beating and causing unnecessary pain and suffering would be fined and his animals will be confiscated.

Sudhir Sharda

Mr. Sudhir Sharda, Treasurer, AH, in his address requested the animals owners to always keep a medicals kit along with them and ensure that the animals is given proper medicals attention as and when necessary. Shri Ratan Dhariwal, Social Worker and member AH, Shri Dinesh Gehlot, Member, AH, Shri Pradeep Deora, Sh. Raju Thapa, employee AH and Shri Suraj, employee AH played a very vital role in organizing the camp and rendering necessary help from time to time.

As the camp was in the morning when many donkeys are put to work, it was assured by AH that another camp will be organized exclusively for the donkeys in the coming few months.

The medical camp was a huge success and well appreciated by animals lovers. The camp was able to render medical assistance to over 30 working animals.
